Green Paper

Green Paper is part of the ongoing series of artworks entitled ORDER ORDER. It shows the expenditure of the campaigns of the four main political parties in Liverpool (Conservative, Green, Labour and Liberal Democrat) during the 2005 General Election. This statistical information of bureaucratic expenditure is represented through an investigation of the varying political concepts of ‘green paper’.

This investigation is undertaken by: literally using green recycled paper, referencing the proposed ‘green papers’ of parliament and the term ‘green paper’ in relation to notes of money. The purpose of the piece is for the viewer to reflect upon the materials of institutional authority and consider the notion of ‘green’ within the most apt business operations existent: the business operations within the Houses of Parliament.
